Day 308
Smoke in the woods that I saw on my walk today. On the other side of those trees is a railroad track and right before all the emergency vehicles had come a train had just passed through that area. By the time I got back to that spot on my walk all the emergency vehicles had finished and left the area. Doesn't seem like it was too bad, but I'm also not sure what happened over there.

Day 307
Thanks for all the comments Billy. It's nice to hear what other people think about certain photos, even if they don't like them. It's probably more helpful to me as I try to improve.
I agree with the Sam picture, it looked a lot better to me before I uploaded it. As soon as I made that post and took a look at the pictures, I noticed it wasn't sharp at all and I liked it because of the expression only.
The dandelion picture, I think I was tryng to do something with common ugly flowers that should be done with a field of beautiful flowers. At the very least, the dandelions should look fresh.
The windy grass, It's probably a bad thing that I have to explain a picture for it to be effective. It wasn't what I had in mind in the first place.
UGH, The Bruins just lost. :(

Day 305
Photo of the Day.
These I believe are Brown-Headed Cowbirds. They had a neat little call and flew all around the backyard together. Didn't seem very afraid of me either. The reason I picked this picture was because I never see these birds around here, so that was kind of neat. Also because I rarely get close enough to the birds to take their pictures with my dinky point and shoot.
Here are 3 more photos that didn't make the cut and I might use the ideas again this week or later in time. I do that sometimes when I'm having a hard time coming up with something new.
Some dandelions, they didn't look all that great themselves. But with all of them in one small space I liked how it looked. Might take this one again in a few days. We'll see what it looks like then.
This one I was trying to show how windy it was today. Some crazy gusts out there. Didn't get what I wanted, but this one was okay I suppose.
Then Sam, I really like her expression in this picture. Took a lot of pictures of Sam today, but decided to use the birds for variety and I liked how that picture turned out.
Which one do you like? Which ones don't you like and why?

Day 304
No theme this week. It's going to be whatever I feel like, which I think might be a lot of flowery/planty pictures. This week would have been a lot better for a spring theme. Lots of more plants and flowers out there now.
I could post some of the pictures from today that didn't make it, but I want to use them again for a couple days this week possibly. I know one idea I will be using for sure as long as I can get a better version of it. Today's was too dark, blurry and bad grain. I like grain in pictures, but this wasn't good.

Day 301
I had no idea what I was going to do for a shadow today. This is probably the only shot out of 70 pictures that I even sort of liked. I don't even want to show the other ones, because they're so bad. One of these days I'll show you some of the other pictures Billy. I just need to have a good day of photos first.
This week has been crazy. Two days ago Sam got out when the pizza man came to drop of the pizza. She ran around the front yard for a little bit, then when I tried to get her she took off. She was across the street in the neighbors back yard. Came flying out of there and then down the street, found a rabbit and started chasing that. Finally 2 houses from the end of the block I was able to get her to come. First time she has ever done anything like that, she would not listen to a word I would say. It was maddening and made me very nervous that she would get hit by a car or run out of sight.
Then the next day we are playing in the backyard and I see a white thing on her mouth. Make her come over and check her out. Big old white growth on her lip. Made me very nervous. Mainly because of my old cat Chubby who got very sick. Turns out it was nothing to worry about. It's a wart type virus that young dogs can get and that goes away on it's own. No meds needed.
Then today after we got home from the vet and a walk, Sam is outside she runs after something. It starts screaming, I got outside and get her away from it. It's a baby squirrel. Didn't seem like it was injured. Ran a little bit and then sat there. Seemed more shocked than anything. Watched it for a little bit, then went inside for 10 minutes. Came back out and it had moved a little bit. Went back in for 30-40 minutes, came back out and it was gone. So hopefully it's okay. Now I need to watch out for the baby bunnies that popped out of their holes this afternoon.

Day 298
Thanks Billy,
I was thinking of doing a week of shadows. The only thing I see as a possible problem is that I think it's supposed to be rainy off and on this week. Today It was cloudy one minute and the next it was sunny. With big fluffy storm-like clouds. I can always make my own light though, so I might have to do that a few times if it's not sunny.
Good idea about showing other photos from the day. I wouldn't be against doing that. Today there really isn't anything to show. It's basically just the same thing as the above from different points of view. When I did try taking pictures of shadows today it seemed like all the clouds came out, so this is pretty much all I got in the short amount of time the sun was bright enough.

Day 294
Thanks Kelsey and Billy.
Kelsey, even coming home 2 Sundays ago was it? It was much greener here. That was before any of the trees had buds or the grass had really started turning green. It was very noticeable when we got home. As for the picture, there really aren't many flowers out yet, a few small ones. These are annuals in a planter box, so they don't really count. :]
Billy I agree, I was going for something a little different with the blur. I wasn't sure what I was going to do for yesterdays picture and just decided to slow the shutter speed down and move my camera during the shot. I should have taken a few more pictures though and maybe waited until it was later and used a tripod. Then had half the exposure still on the tripod and half blurred. Probably would've end up better. I need to be less rushed.
