no I don't think they are too dark at all, it captures a lot the way you do it. I am up for having my picture taken and I am sure billy is as well. We can do all 3 options, singles and couples. You should take some pictures of mom and dad... if they let you. Capture mom during her 'tooth space' riddle.
pictures of the upcoming'carnival' on the 31st should be pretty amusing. hopefully you can get some pictures of the kids because those tend to be the most precious.
