Day Forty-Six

My sister Kelsey.
She was nice enough to let me practice doing some portraits.

After we were done taking photographs the day went downhill. We went on a bike ride down the bike path to Lake of the Isles. Right when we got to the lake the bike I was riding, not mine, screwed up and the back tire was all bent out of shape. So I started to walk it home and Kelsey was going to finish her quick ride around the lake. She finished and caught up to me and we said she would go back and have our dad come back and get me at a certain location. I kept walking and got to the exit, only thing is, the location I thought was there, wasn't. So I went down a couple roads and couldn't find it. Turns out it was on the other side of the path, the south side. Went back to the path exit and waited for a while until I started to feel sick from being in the sun and needed water. Then I decided to start walking the path again and get to a water fountain I knew was up ahead. After a while I finally got water and finally made it home. The End.

Day Forty-Five

The wonders of photoshop. The above picture I did a lot of post processing, a.k.a fiddling around with photoshop and trying to get something alright looking.

So today I wanted to take a picture of Sam in this chair, but the picture didn't turn out like I wanted. There were many problems.
1. I couldn't find a decent spot to put the chair. There are so many windows that are too bright after taking the photo.
2. Sam would not stay in the chair. She would stay just long enough for me to get back to my camera and then jump out of the chair.
3. Lighting. I couldn't get it right at all. Mind you I'm not using very good lights in the first place. But I need to use what I have.

So I finally got a picture I didn't like at all. I was ready to trash them all and try for a different picture later in the day. Instead I decided I would try to see what I could do with photoshop or post processing. Above is what I came up with and down below is the original. There are lots of problems with it, but it was just practice and I didn't want to spend any more time on it.

Day Forty-Three

So I went on my walk with my dog like usual and before I got to the fields I heard hollering, go under the bridge and there is Mario and Luigi playing softball. There was also a Wario on the team and I heard somebody say Yoshi was up soon. I was too wussy to take a close up picture, so this crappy shot is all I have.
On the other fields I saw a girls team with hula skirts on, another girls team dressed as cavewomen, a team wearing doctors masks and on the same field a guy dressed as a panda.

Day Thirty-Nine

To remember the epic game of trouble we had. Even if it's not a very good picture.

Day Thirty-Three

Another self portrait with two more to come. I decided to do a small project of five self portraits before taking pictures of other subjects. A small storm rolled in and the light was nice and dreary so I stuck my head in the window and took the picture. This one looks better with a darker background.

Day Thirty-Two

Black and White self portrait using the t-shirt ninja tutorial I had seen a while back. For the light I was holding one of those silver portable lamps and a compact fluorescent bulb with a white t-shirt over it.

Day Thirty-One

Self portrait with Sam lying down on top of me. Natural light from the window.
Thanks to my friend Billy for the suggestion of self portraits, even though at first I didn't want to take portraits of myself. I do think this one turned out okay.

Day Twenty-Eight

We have a lot of baby bunnies running around our yard during spring and summer. The problem is with having a dog, she tends to chase everything that moves. But since the rabbits are babies they can be foolish and walk around while Sam is out there. Whenever I let Sam outside I try to scare the bunnies away, but today this one bunny would not run away for the longest time. So I took it's picture and then after a while was able to get it to go on the other side of the fence.

It's not a very good picture, but it's something that happened today. Honestly I'm having a hard time coming up with interesting photos to take. There is only so much around me daily that I find interesting. I tend to take a lot of flower and plant photos because they're around and it's easy. But I'm pretty sure they don't make for interesting photos. If you have any suggestions for me, let me know. That would be great.

Day Twenty-Six

I tried to get a quick walk with Sam in before playing softball. I only got about a block before it started to pour. By the time I got back home the rain was over and Sam had her shower.

Day Twenty-Five

Dragon fly I saw on a crab apple tree. Not entirely happy with this picture. It's hard to take pictures when Sam is pulling the leash all over.

Day Twenty-Three

This is a bracelet my sister Kelsey made. Be sure to check out all her other great pieces of jewelery here at her Etsy site and here at her mnartists site. She has also started making sock creatures!

Keep up the great work Kels!
