great contrast here. was there a lot of tweaking in photoshop to get the trees so dark? the purple orange sky is really impressive. I personally really enjoy this photo from the side, as if the black is on the left or the right. Looks very abstract and compelling.

No there was barely any tweaking. Just the smallest amount of contrast adjustment. I exposed for the sky so the trees turned black by default.
